“BEAUTIFUL APPEARANCE”

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture has become a fad in recent years with all the shoutouts from the #influencers, but it’s actually an ancient practice that dates back throughout centuries. Our first records of Facial Acupuncture date back to the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), when physicians were employed by the Emperor to keep his concubines looking healthy and radiant. Mei Rong was developed and used as part of a holistic regimen to enhance beauty, delay visible signs of aging, and promote systemic health and wellbeing.

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture can improve facial appearance by: balancing facial muscles, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, toning sagging tissues, releasing the constant pull on the face and neckline by restricted neck muscles, stimulating the generation of healthy bone and fat, and increasing collagen production and circulation which rejuvenates dull, lifeless, or aging skin.

In addition to the cosmetic effects of facial acupuncture, many patients find it deeply relaxing and highly effective at freeing up the Face <—> Brain connection, which can allow us a greater degree of self-expression and therefore a more vital sense of wellbeing.

Facial Acupuncture can be used as an alternative or as an adjunct to modern beauty enhancing services such as Botox, fillers, and surgery.

Visible results can be seen after the first treatment. Dramatic and long-lasting changes generally occur with a series of sessions.

What you can expect:

  • Facial Acupuncture is generally performed in a series of 10+ weekly (or bi-weekly), 90 minutes, sessions.

  • During your initial appointment, we’ll discuss in detail your whole-human health and any specific concerns you have regarding your appearance, skincare routine, self-expression, and self-confidence. The face is a reflection of how the body is functioning internally, so addressing all of you is crucial.

  • Every treatment includes a Chinese Medicine diagnosis and full-body acupuncture treatment so that your entire system will feel relaxed and aligned.

  • Facial needling is applied uniquely in each session, based on your goals and concerns.

  • In most cases, I do offer and recommend taking before and after photos, especially when embarking upon an Acu-Facial series. Acu-Facial results are 100% natural and while incredible results can be gained in just one session, dramatic results generally happen over time. It’s easier to see them when we have the photos to refer to and track your progress.

The Face and the Limbic System:

The Limbic System is the part of the brain and nervous system which is responsible for feeling, sensing, and connecting to other people’s nervous systems. It’s the system that allows us to sense how other people are feeling AND allow them to feel us.

Mimetic muscles are a special group of muscles in the face. Instead of crossing joints, connecting deep to the bones, and moving the body through space; the mimetic muscles attach superficially to other muscles and are designed to create facial expressions. This group of muscles is intrinsically linked to the limbic system.

Your ability to connect with other human beings is rooted in facial expression and how you feel about yourself, others, and the world shows up on your face.

One of our main goals in working together is to reconnect you to the beautiful range and capacity you have in expressing yourself as a human being.
